Superset Data Visualisation and Dashboard Consulting Engagement
A major financial services firm sought to transition from a proprietary industry-leading BI solution within one of its key products to an Open Source platform (Superset) in order to achieve significant reductions in licensing expenses.
Deliverables NobleProg facilitated several project meetings with the client to gain a thorough understanding of requirements, scope, risks, and the technical environment. This analysis formed the basis for a comprehensive Statement of Work designed to guide and monitor project progress. Our lead consultant worked closely to align the existing data architecture with specific reporting needs for various report types. Recommendations were made to adjust data stores to optimise Superset usage and ensure peak performance, with guidance provided to the team responsible for implementing these enhancements. After optimising the data store and pipeline, our consultants began constructing and deploying a range of reports based on established requirements and new requests from stakeholders and end-users. To present data according to specific needs, custom plug-ins were developed to enable more interactive data presentation, such as drill-down features.
Outcome The consulting team developed new dashboards while ensuring that adequate knowledge transfer occurred within the client organisation to sustain the dashboards and reports independently. The project remains ongoing and has been highly regarded by both the client’s business unit and their end clients. Highlighting its success, the initiative has been scaled up to encompass additional products and client bases.
